Date & Location: On August 15, 2025, a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government Mi-17 helicopter crashed in the Mohmand district while carrying flood relief supplies to Bajaur.
Cause of Crash: Preliminary reports point to bad weather as the reason for the tragic accident.

The Martyrs
The crash claimed the lives of five brave crew members, including:
- Two pilots
- Three crew members
They were hailed as national heroes for sacrificing their lives while serving humanity in a flood-hit region.
State Honors & Mourning
- Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur declared August 16 as a day of mourning across K-P.
- National flag was flown at half-mast throughout the province.
- The martyrs were laid to rest with full state and military honors.
- President Asif Ali Zardari and Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed deep condolences, paying tribute to their sacrifice.
