The government of Pakistan has announced a sharp reduction in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD), while keeping the price of petrol unchanged for the next 15 days.

New Fuel Prices (effective from today)
- High-Speed Diesel (HSD): cut by Rs 12.84 → Rs 272.99 per liter (down from Rs 285.83).
- Petrol (MS): unchanged at Rs 264.61 per liter.
- Light Diesel Oil (LDO): cut by Rs 8.20 → Rs 162.37 per liter.
- Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO): cut by Rs 7.19 → Rs 178.27 per liter.
Expected Impact
Officials say the decision to reduce diesel prices will provide relief to the transportation and agriculture sectors, where HSD is widely used in heavy vehicles and farm machinery.
Economists note that the move could also help ease inflationary pressure on essential goods and services, as transportation costs remain a key driver of prices.
