Islamabad, November 5, 2025 – Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has sparked hope among PTI supporters, claiming that efforts to free political prisoners, including party founder Imran Khan, will yield results within the next 10 to 15 days.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Fawad, alongside ex-PTI leaders Mehmood Moulvi and Imran Ismail, expressed optimism about their push for political stability in Pakistan. “The impacts of our work for stability and the release of political detainees, including Imran Khan, have seen initial successes. These will become visible soon,” he stated.

The trio has been advocating dialogue between the government and PTI to ease tensions. Fawad stressed that reducing political hostilities is crucial for Pakistan’s long-term progress and development.
This comes amid Imran Khan’s firm stance from jail. A late-night post on his X account quoted him rejecting talks with the government or establishment, entrusting decisions to allies like Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Raja Nasir Abbas.
Recent moves include the group’s hospital visit to jailed PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Lahore, though his lawyer clarified no political discussions occurred. Fawad insists Qureshi supports ending the stalemate and claims backing from over 15 PTI MPAs.The ex-leaders plan to approach the National Assembly speaker, Senate chairman, and senior ministers for de-escalation. They deny any ‘minus-Imran’ strategy, focusing on Imran Khan’s release and party unity.
Imran has been imprisoned since 2023, with many PTI figures detained over May 9 protests. As Pakistan awaits a political thaw, Fawad’s timeline has sparked speculation about Imran Khan’s potential release.
