“Special Concern for Safety”
Israeli authorities and the Prime Minister’s Office have defended the restrictions, citing the high-risk environment of the ongoing war with Iran:
- Missile Threat: Police stated the Old City lacks adequate bomb shelters and narrow alleys prevent the access of large emergency vehicles during mass casualty events.
