Pakistan Strongly Condemns Israeli Provocations at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Aug 4, 2025 | Current Affairs

Pakistan’s Foreign Office has strongly condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli ministers and settler groups, calling the act a provocative and deeply offensive desecration of one of Islam’s holiest sites.

In an official statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan denounced the intrusion as a deliberate attempt to provoke religious sentiments worldwide. He warned that the presence of senior Israeli officials at the compound risks inciting further unrest across the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also issued a strong condemnation via his official account on X (formerly Twitter), stating that these “systematic provocations by the occupying power” undermine peace efforts and enrage over a billion Muslims. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause.

Pakistan reiterated its demands for:

  • An immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an end to all Israeli aggression.
  • The revival of a credible peace process aimed at achieving a sovereign Palestinian state.
  • The recognition of Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as the capital of Palestine, in line with international law and UN resolutions.

This firm response reflects Pakistan’s longstanding, principled stance in support of Palestinian rights and resistance to all forms of occupation and religious desecration.
