RAWALPINDI – October 22, 2025:
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Tuesday issued a clear warning that any violation of Pakistan’s territorial integrity, whether direct or indirect, will be met with a “firm and decisive response.”
The statement, released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), comes amid escalating tensions on both western and eastern borders — including a recent border conflict with the Taliban regime in Afghanistan and heightened rhetoric from India following the May 2025 cross-border skirmishes.
“While Pakistan seeks regional peace and stability, any violation of its territorial integrity will be met with a firm and decisive response to safeguard the lives and well-being of its citizens,” the ISPR quoted COAS Munir as saying during his interaction with participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at GHQ.

Indian and Afghan Tensions Escalate
The army chief’s reaffirmation of Pakistan’s security posture follows India’s “Operation Sindoor” in early May and Pakistan’s retaliatory “Operation Bunyanum Marsoos”, which brought the two nuclear-armed nations to the brink of war before a US-brokered ceasefire was reached.
Munir also accused “Indian-sponsored proxies” — termed Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij — of advancing anti-development and violent agendas in Balochistan and other regions.
“All necessary actions are being taken to pursue and eliminate these threats,” the ISPR said.
The terms refer respectively to India-backed militant outfits and elements of the banned Fitna Al Khawarij , which Islamabad claims are operating from sanctuaries inside Afghanistan.
Balochistan’s Security and Development Highlighted
Reaffirming the state’s commitment to Balochistan’s development, the COAS called the province the “pride of Pakistan”, praising its resilient and patriotic people. He emphasized the government’s ongoing people-centric economic initiatives, stressing youth empowerment and civil society engagement.
“Sustainable development and long-term prosperity in Balochistan can only be achieved by negating vested political agendas,” he noted.
Regional Peace — But With Red Lines
Last week, Munir also cautioned India against misjudging Pakistan’s red lines, warning there was “no space for war in a nuclearised environment.” He reiterated that Pakistan’s “conventional victories” were complemented by its resolve to “raze to dust” any foreign proxy operating on its soil.
