ISLAMABAD – Four militants allegedly linked to Indian-backed groups were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kalat district of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation was carried out on the night of November 1 following reports of militants associated with the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan operating in the area. The state has designated certain Balochistan-based groups under this name to underscore India’s alleged involvement in terrorism and efforts to destabilize Pakistan.
“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and resultantly, four Indian-sponsored terrorists were neutralised,” the ISPR statement said. It added that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who were reportedly involved in multiple terrorist activities.

The statement further noted that “sanitisation operations” were ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants in the vicinity. Security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue operations aimed at eradicating foreign-supported terrorism from the country, it added.
President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces on social media for their efforts. “The nation stands firmly with its forces in their resolve to root out terrorism under Operation Azm-i-Istehkam,” he said.

The Kalat operation follows a series of engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where at least three militants were killed in two separate operations, the ISPR reported earlier. Security agencies have noted a recent rise in attacks targeting police, law enforcement personnel, and security forces, primarily in KP and Balochistan. Analysts attribute the surge to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’s breach of a ceasefire agreement with the government in 2022.
The military has reiterated its commitment to conducting operations to ensure security and stability in the affected regions, while maintaining vigilance against cross-border support for militant activities.
