KARACHI, Sept 13 — Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput has been appointed as the acting Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court (SHC) following the retirement of Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar.

Appointment Notification
According to a notification issued by the law ministry, President Asif Ali Zardari made the appointment under Article 196 of the Constitution.
Justice Rajput, being the senior puisne judge of the SHC, will serve in this role until the Judicial Commission of Pakistan formally appoints a permanent chief justice.
Legal Journey and Career
Born on October 16, 1965, in Hyderabad, Justice Rajput completed his Bachelor of Arts at Government City Arts College before pursuing an LLB from Government Jinnah Law College. He also holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Sindh.
He enrolled with the Sindh Bar Council in 1990, became an advocate of the high court in 2001, and later joined the judiciary as a magistrate in 1993.
Justice Rajput was elevated to the Sindh High Court bench on August 31, 2013.
Contributions on the Bench
Over his judicial career, he has disposed of more than 12,000 cases spanning civil, banking, property, arbitration, intellectual property, rent, and criminal laws.
