Islamabad — Leaders of Awaam Pakistan — former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and ex-Finance Minister Miftah Ismail — will participate in the sit-in announced by the opposition alliance Tehreek-i-Tahafuz-i-Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) outside Parliament House on Friday, February 13, 2026, in protest over the alleged deterioration of PTI founder Imran Khan’s eyesight while in custody.
The decision was announced following a TTAP meeting attended by Awaam Pakistan’s leadership. Opposition Leader in the Senate Allama Raja Nasir Abbas stated that the peaceful protest is in response to Imran Khan’s reported loss of vision in one eye and the government’s refusal to allow access to his personal doctors and family.

Dr Zafar Mirza, central spokesperson for Awaam Pakistan, posted on X: “Imran Khan’s eyesight is at risk without urgent medical treatment! Awaam Pakistan is part of the peaceful protest of Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan and will stay until he receives the medical care he legally deserves.”
The sit-in follows a Supreme Court hearing on Thursday, where PTI counsel Advocate Salman Safdar submitted a report after meeting Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. The report quoted the former prime minister stating he has only 15 per cent vision left in his right eye.
A two-member bench led by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi ordered the formation of a medical team to examine Imran Khan’s eye and permitted phone calls to his children, both to be completed by February 16. However, Imran’s sister Aleema Khan stated on X that no written order has been received as of Friday afternoon.

“It is 1pm on Friday the 13th, and we still have not received the written order from the Supreme Court of Pakistan,” Aleema wrote. She stressed the need for formal directions to ensure examination by specialists at Shifa International Hospital under Imran Khan’s own doctors, citing the urgency due to the risk to his eyesight.
TTAP described denial of timely medical care as immoral, inhumane, and illegal, emphasising that Imran Khan is a former prime minister and leader of the country’s largest political party. The alliance reaffirmed commitment to rule of law, constitutional rights, free and fair elections, and true democracy.
