Timely Action at Tollinton Market

Food safety teams acted swiftly to protect public health.PFA Director General Asim Javed explained that veterinary experts examined the recovered chickens and declared them unfit after finding signs of illness. Several premises lacked mandatory records and essential documents.
At the sealed shop, inspectors noted broken freezers, absence of issuance and expiry dates on products, and no medical certificates for employees. The business was also operating without a valid license.

Safeguarding Citizens from Adulteration

Authorities remain vigilant against threats to food quality. Javed described the timely intervention as crucial in stopping the supply of contaminated beef and chicken meat. He termed those involved in adulteration a serious danger, saying they were essentially selling disease instead of food.
The PFA continues strict monitoring across Lahore to guarantee safe supplies. Citizens have been urged to stay alert when buying meat and report any suspicions via helpline 1223.
Such dedicated efforts by the Punjab Food Authority reflect Pakistan’s commitment to public welfare. Through proactive enforcement, authorities ensure that families across the province can access wholesome food with confidence.
