A delegation of six high-ranking Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders is scheduled to meet with the party’s founding chairman, Imran Khan, today at Adiala Jail. The list, finalized by PTI Secretary General and Coordinator Salman Akram Raja, was formally submitted to jail authorities this morning to ensure compliance with the court-mandated Thursday visitation schedule.
Six-Member Delegation Set for High-Level Consultations
The authorized list includes a mix of Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) and senior party figures. The leaders confirmed for today’s session are MNA Shahid Khattak, Javed Waraich, Shabbir Ali Qureshi, Adil Bazai, Sohail Sultan, and Major (Retd) Fayyaz Ahmed.
According to party sources, the meeting is expected to focus on the party’s current legal challenges and the ongoing protests regarding Imran Khan’s health. This follows a standardized protocol established by a five-member committee last year to streamline jail visitations amidst frequent administrative hurdles.
PTI has decided to boycott the government-called briefing unless Imran Khan is first allowed to meet with family members and legal access is restored. PTI leaders called the invitation a “truck ki batti” (false signal/distraction). #Pakistan

Tensions Persist Over Prison Visitation Rights
While Thursday is the designated day for political leadership meetings, the process remains fraught with tension. PTI coordinator Salman Akram Raja has previously raised concerns over the jail administration’s lack of cooperation. Today’s meeting comes just days after Imran Khan’s sisters, including Aleema Khan, staged a sit-in protest after being denied access at the Dahgal Naka checkpoint.
“The jail administration is legally bound to respect the court’s orders. We have provided the list in accordance with the established rules, and we expect no further delays in these vital consultations.” — Salman Akram Raja, PTI Secretary General.
The meeting is particularly critical as the party seeks direct instructions from Imran Khan regarding the recent Islamabad High Court (IHC) plea to shift him to a private hospital for specialized eye treatment.
Imran Khan’s Health and Legal Status in Focus
The former Prime Minister remains incarcerated at Adiala Jail following multiple convictions, though he was recently granted bail in several cases related to the Toshakhana receipts. Recent medical reports from PIMS suggest his vision has “improved remarkably” after a second dose of anti-VEGF treatment, a claim the PTI has categorically rejected, demanding an independent evaluation at Shifa International Hospital.
Key points of the current visitation landscape:
- Legal Protocol: Meetings are restricted to Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Security Measures: Heavy police presence remains active on Adiala Road.
- Medical Advocacy: The party continues to push for the inclusion of personal physicians, Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Asim Yousaf, in all health evaluations.

What’s Next: PTI National Security Briefing Decision
Following today’s meeting, the PTI leadership is expected to announce whether it will attend the government’s upcoming national security briefing. The party has previously stated it will boycott the session unless Imran Khan is allowed a comprehensive meeting with the core party leadership to discuss regional stability and the Iran-Israel conflict’s impact on Pakistan.
