LAHORE, October 8, 2025 — Acclaimed actor and director Angeline Malik has stepped forward to share her battle with stage 3C ovarian cancer, using her platform to raise critical awareness about what she calls a “silent cancer” often ignored until it’s too late.
In a candid Instagram video, Malik revealed she had dismissed early symptoms like bloating, fatigue, and appetite changes, attributing them to travel stress and lifestyle factors. By the time she sought medical help, her CA-125 levels had exceeded 2,000, far above the normal range of under 35 — a red flag that led to her cancer diagnosis.

“Ovarian cancer is difficult to detect because the symptoms seem too generic — like a minor stomach issue or irregular cycle,” she explained. “But these everyday discomforts can be signs of something serious.”
Malik urged women to listen to their bodies and get tested if they notice persistent changes. She highlighted the importance of the CA-125 blood test, which checks for elevated levels of cancer antigen 125, a potential marker for ovarian cancer. She also stressed that the test is not foolproof and should be paired with a pelvic ultrasound.
“This isn’t just about me. It’s about all the women who might be ignoring their symptoms,” Malik said. “Get checked, get tested. Don’t wait.”
Her bravery in speaking publicly is being praised across social media, with many calling her efforts a vital step in women’s health advocacy in Pakistan.
