Speaking at the opening ceremony of the AJKSC’s golden jubilee, the chief justice congratulated citizens, lawyers, and judges on the institution’s 50-year journey. He honored past chief justices and judges who laid the foundation of AJK’s justice system.
In a strong message, he reaffirmed Pakistan and AJK’s unwavering support for the oppressed people of IIOJK and condemned India’s illegal occupation. He paid homage to Kashmiri martyrs and expressed hope that freedom for IIOJK was not far.
The chief justice recalled that the main jubilee celebration planned for May had been postponed after the tragic May 6–7 attacks on civilian areas. He praised the swift response of Pakistan’s armed forces, especially the Air Force and cyber warriors, and paid tribute to Shaheed Major Adnan.
He highlighted the progress of the AJK Supreme Court, noting that no case predating 2024 remains pending. Yet, he warned that justice delayed is justice denied, calling for reforms to reduce adjournments, absentee lawyers, and bureaucratic delays.
Chief Justice Akram also pointed to AJK’s social harmony, with low crime rates and sectarian unity, urging institutions to stay within their constitutional roles while working towards a welfare state based on rule of law and merit.
