RAWALPINDI, October 8, 2025 — In connection with the November 26, 2024 protest case, The Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday issued a bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.

The warrant was issued after the court rejected Aleema Khan’s request for exemption from personal appearance during the hearing of the case registered at Sadiqabad Police Station. Aleema was scheduled to be indicted on Tuesday, but her legal representative failed to produce a valid power of attorney, prompting the court to dismiss the petition.

Ten other accused in the same case appeared before the court, which subsequently adjourned the hearing until October 11.

Background of the Case

The case stems from the November 2024 protests, during which PTI supporters led by Bushra Bibi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and other leaders marched from Peshawar to Islamabad, demanding the release of Imran Khan.

Clashes erupted in the federal capital on November 26, injuring several police officers and protesters. Protesters were accused of damaging public and private property, blocking highways, and inciting violence.

Following the unrest, multiple FIRs under the Anti-Terrorism Act were filed against senior PTI leaders, including Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and Ali Amin Gandapur, along with hundreds of party workers in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The court proceedings continue amid heightened political and legal scrutiny of PTI leadership.
