Rawalpindi, November 27, 2025: Dushmantha Chameera produced a masterful final over of unerrable yorkers to defend 184 and hand Sri Lanka a heart-stopping six-run victory over Pakistan in the Twenty20 tri-series at a packed Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday night, booking their place in Saturday’s final.

Needing 10 off the last six balls, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha (unbeaten 63 off 44) could only scramble a single before Faheem Ashraf holed out and Mohammad Wasim blocked the final perfect toe-crusher. A stunned stadium fell silent as the Sri Lankans erupted in celebration.

Chameera finished with outstanding figures of 4-20, having earlier demolished Pakistan’s top order by removing Sahibzada Farhan and Babar Azam in three balls. Young quick Eshan Malinga (2-54) compounded the damage by rattling Saim Ayub’s stumps.

From 43 for 4, Salman and Usman Khan (33) added 56, before the skipper combined with Mohammad Nawaz (27 off 16) for a blazing 70-run sixth-wicket stand that brought the equation down to 22 off 12. Yet Chameera’s return proved decisive.

Earlier, 23-year-old Kamil Mishara’s scintillating 76 off 48 balls (6 fours, 3 sixes) anchored Sri Lanka’s 184 for 5 after they were put in. Kusal Mendis blitzed 40 off 23, while late cameos from Janith Liyanage (24*) and Dasun Shanaka (17 off 10) lifted the total on a flat track.

Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed (2-28) was Pakistan’s most economical bowler, but the visitors’ aggressive batting and Chameera’s death-over brilliance proved too much as Sri Lanka sealed a famous win.
