SAHIWAL — The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed a significant breakthrough after arresting two suspected operatives linked to India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) during an intelligence-based raid near the Western Bypass in Okara.

Officials said the suspects were intercepted late Wednesday night while allegedly transporting live improvised explosive devices (IEDs) meant for attacks on sensitive security installations in the region.

Midnight Interception and Seizure of Explosives

The operation was carried out by a CTD mobile team led by Under Officer Fida Hussain based on credible intelligence.

During the raid, security personnel arrested two individuals identified as Muhammad Aziz, a resident of Badha Baar, Peshawar, and Walayat Shah from Mosa Zai, Peshawar.

  • Explosive Yield: CTD teams recovered two shoulder bags containing 1,947 grams and 1,806 grams of commercial explosive material.
  • Tactical Hardware: The search also yielded multiple IED components, including two iron containers, six battery holders, electronic circuits, four active detonators, wiring, and Rs5,500 in cash.
  • Bomb Disposal Action: A Bomb Disposal Squad team, led by expert Naveed Hyder, safely defused both live explosive devices at the scene.
