KARACHI — In a fiery address following the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, has called on the Pakistani government to cease its “covert condoning” of U.S. and Israeli actions. Speaking on Sunday, March 1, 2026, Hafiz Naeem demanded that Donald Trump be declared a “global war criminal” and warned that the defense of Iran is fundamentally linked to the security of Pakistan.
Regime Change in Iran is a Threat to Pakistan
Hafiz Naeem characterized the joint U.S.-Israeli strikes as a blatant violation of international law. He warned that if the “regime change” agenda succeeds in Tehran, Israel would effectively reach Pakistan’s borders.
- Call for Unity: He urged the Muslim Ummah to rise above sectarian lines and unite against “global imperialism.”
- Martyrdom of Khamenei: The JI chief paid tribute to Ayatollah Khamenei, stating he chose the “path of resistance” over submission.

Condemnation of the Karachi Consulate Shooting
The JI chief reacted strongly to the violence outside the U.S. Consulate in Karachi, where at least 16 people were reportedly killed during a pro-Iran protest on Sunday.
- Direct Fire: He described the direct shooting at unarmed protesters as “unjustifiable” and a “great tragedy.”
- Government Accountability: He demanded that the Pakistani leadership bring those responsible to justice, warning that “silence alone will not work” in the face of such bloodshed on sovereign soil.
No Raymond Davis-Style Relief
Hafiz Naeem took a sharp jab at Pakistan’s history of diplomatic concessions, specifically referencing the Raymond Davis case.
- The Ultimatum: He stated that “American bullying on Pakistani soil is unacceptable” and warned the government against providing any “under-the-table” relief to U.S. interests or personnel involved in the recent escalations.
- National Dignity: He criticized the leadership for its perceived “spinelessness,” particularly referencing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s past diplomatic overtures toward Donald Trump.
At a press briefing in Karachi, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, head of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, warned that if regime change in Iran were to succeed through actions by the United States and Israel, it could result in Israel’s border effectively reaching Pakistan.#TOKReports #News… pic.twitter.com/mVWTrlxrVT

- Slogans: The convention, themed “Death to America, Death to Israel – Life Lies in Resistance,” saw thousands of participants chanting anti-imperialist slogans.
- Gilgit-Baltistan & Skardu: Protests turned violent in the north, with reports of a UN office being torched in Skardu as public anger over the Iran strikes boiled over.
