Rawalpindi, 26 Nov 2025 – Pakistan and Iran moved closer on the security front today as Mr Ali Ardeshir Larijani, the powerful Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, sat down with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters.
In a warm yet candid exchange, the two leaders reviewed the fast-changing regional security landscape and explored new avenues for joint action against terrorism and instability.
Field Marshal Munir told his Iranian counterpart that Pakistan remains fully committed to regional peace and sees “closer collaboration with Iran to combat terrorism” as indispensable, especially given the shifting geopolitical realities, according to the ISPR.Mr Larijani warmly acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in keeping the region stable and pledged Tehran’s eagerness to take bilateral ties to the next level through sustained dialogue and practical cooperation.

Both sides agreed that only deeper Pakistan-Iran coordination can effectively counter common threats and deliver lasting calm along their shared border and beyond.
Today’s meeting sends a clear message: Islamabad and Tehran are determined to turn their historic brotherhood into a stronger shield against terrorism and instability.
