ISLAMABAD — Pakistan and Italy have signed an agreement to abolish visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports. The accord was signed in Rome by Pakistan’s Ambassador Ali Javed and Italian Secretary General Riccardo Guariglia. Officials stated the move reflects mutual trust and will facilitate easier exchanges between diplomatic delegations.

The two diplomats discussed a broad spectrum of engagement, noting that the countries already share 15 government-to-government agreements in sectors like defense, science, and culture. Ambassador Javed also invited the Italian Secretary General to visit Pakistan in late 2026 for the 7th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations.
