Pakistan’s national shooting team shone at the F-Class British Open 2026. They won 13 medals: seven gold, two silver, and four bronze. This success came despite having one of the smallest teams at the event. The competition was held at Bisley, United Kingdom, from August 3 to 8, drawing around 185 shooters from 24 countries. Pakistan sent a 12-member team led by Lt Gen Ahsan Gulrez. They achieved results in both individual and team events against some of the world’s top long-range rifle shooters.

Small Squad, Strong Results Across the Board
The Pakistan Long Range Rifle Association noted that the team’s performance was impressive, especially considering its smaller size compared to other nations. Muhammad Waleed was a standout performer. He won gold in the 1,000-yard competition and took home bronze in the FTR Aggregate event. Pakistani shooters also posted strong results across various 800-yard and 900-yard competitions, reflecting consistency across multiple distances rather than success concentrated in a single event.
Building Momentum Ahead of the World Championship
The British Open result carries added significance as preparation for the 7th F-Class World Championship, now underway at the same Bisley venue from August 10 to 16. Officials from the team said the medal haul shows Pakistan’s rising competitiveness in long-range rifle shooting. This sport has not had much international presence for the country, unlike bigger teams in hockey or athletics.
The Pakistan Long Range Rifle Association said the British Open was a key test for team form before the World Championship. The strong performance boosted morale in the squad. The World Championship will feature many of the top competitors Pakistan faced in Bisley last week. The team aims to keep its medal-winning momentum as it enters this tougher, higher-stakes competition in the coming days.
