On Sunday, February 15, 2026, a five-member medical team conducted a 60-minute eye examination of Imran Khan at Adiala Jail. While the government claims the examination fulfilled the Supreme Court’s mandate, the PTI has categorically rejected the process, calling it a “malicious” attempt to bypass the family’s legal rights.
The inspection occurred under high tension as an opposition sit-in at Parliament House entered its fourth day, with lawmakers protesting the denial of food, water, and independent medical access for the former Prime Minister.
Last two days have proven the power of non-violent peaceful protest, as it has before many times in human history.

The Medical Examination: What Happened?
The examination followed a two-and-a-half-hour delay and was conducted by a government-appointed board.
-
Procedures Conducted: The team performed a detailed eye assessment (including OCT scans), took blood samples, and checked Khan’s vitals (blood pressure).
-
The “Ambulance” Confusion: Earlier that afternoon, an ambulance arrived at the jail, sparking rumors that Khan was being moved to a hospital. The Jail Superintendent later clarified this was a “rumour” and that the vehicle was merely part of the medical team’s equipment transport.
-
Findings: While the official report is due in the Supreme Court today (Monday, Feb 16), Khan’s sister Noreen Khanum noted that initial reports suggest “no major complications” beyond the previously diagnosed blood clot, and that swelling has slightly decreased.

The PTI’s Rejection: Three Core Objections
The PTI leadership issued a stern statement on X (formerly Twitter) distancing itself from the results:
-
Exclusion of Family: The party argues that the right to make medical decisions belongs to the family, who were not present during the test.
-
No Personal Doctors: Despite the Supreme Court’s order, Khan’s personal physicians (Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Asim Yusuf) were not part of the physical examination, though they were later briefed via conference call.
-
Symbolic Invitation: The PTI described the government’s invitation to party leadership as a “crude attempt to divert attention” from the lack of specialist care.
