ISLAMABAD, October 30, 2025: PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan on Wednesday expressed concern over what he described as the government’s “unjustified delay” in officially recognising his party’s nominees, Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, as opposition leaders in the National Assembly and Senate.

In a post on social media platform X, Mr Khan said, “The continued delay in issuing notifications for Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas as Leaders of the Opposition is deeply concerning. I demand that they be immediately notified as such.”

Although the PTI founder remains incarcerated, messages continue to be issued from his verified account, communications he has never publicly disowned.

The post also hailed recent political rallies in Charsadda, Khyber, and Karak as evidence of public mobilisation, calling on supporters to “accelerate the struggle for true freedom” in collaboration with the Tehreek Tahaffuz-i-Aaeen-i-Pakistan movement.

Addressing internal matters, the statement clarified that all official party communication must be routed through Secretary General Salman Akram Raja. It reaffirmed support for senior party members Ahmad Chattha and Bilal Ejaz, denying reports of their removal.

Separately, PTI Central Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram criticised the Adiala Jail administration for allegedly ignoring Islamabad High Court orders on visitation rights for Mr Khan. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi and other leaders were denied access despite court directives, urging the IHC to take notice.

The PTI also condemned recent Israeli airstrikes in Gaza and urged the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to act decisively to halt the violence.

Meanwhile, a PTI delegation led by Asad Qaiser met Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad to discuss political cooperation. Mr Qaiser said the delegation proposed a “national jirga” to address security challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and sought JUI-F’s backing for PTI’s Senate seat candidate from the provincial assembly.
