ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Turkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral trade, investment, and industrial cooperation, reflecting the close and brotherly ties between the two countries.
The commitment was expressed during a meeting in Istanbul on Monday between Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan and Turkiye’s Minister of Trade, Prof. Dr. Omer Bolat, held on the sidelines of the 41st session of the OIC’s Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation.
Both ministers discussed ways to further expand trade and economic engagement, with the Turkish minister expressing his government’s strong interest in reviewing Pakistan’s proposals favorably during the upcoming trade negotiations.

Minister Jam Kamal Khan briefed his counterpart on the reforms and measures being implemented in Pakistan to improve efficiency, transparency, and investor confidence. He highlighted that Pakistan is emerging as a promising destination for Turkish investment across multiple sectors.
Prof. Dr. Bolat also invited Minister Khan to attend the upcoming ‘Halal Expo’ in Istanbul from November 25, emphasizing the potential for deeper collaboration in the halal trade and related industries.
