ISLAMABAD / KATHMANDU — Pakistan will send emergency relief assistance to Nepal on an immediate basis after catastrophic flash floods and landslides caused by a high-altitude Himalayan glacier collapse, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced Friday. The disaster has killed more than 500 and left hundreds missing in the landlocked region.
In a telephonic conversation with Nepali Prime Minister Balendra Shah, PM Shehbaz conveyed deep condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan for the loss of precious lives and massive destruction of infrastructure.
