SINDH, May 4 — The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi announced on Monday that it has recovered 80 acres of government land that was unlawfully occupied by Bahria Town. The land, situated in the Gulshan-i-Sarmast housing scheme in Hyderabad’s Deh Ganjo Takkar area, is valued at approximately Rs6 billion. According to a bureau press release, the property giant originally gained possession through an illegal allotment for just Rs383 million, a payment on which the developer eventually defaulted. Officials noted that the land was originally earmarked for a university, but the developer failed to meet the conditions of the agreement.
