A central component of this strategy is the swift finalization of a unified National Agriculture Policy, which the Prime Minister insisted must be designed in close coordination with provincial administrations to ensure synchronized implementation.
To prevent bureaucratic delays, a newly proposed agricultural apex forum will convene on a monthly basis to rigorously monitor the execution of the country’s core innovation and development agendas.
Financing accessibility for small-scale farmers also received significant attention during the session, with directives issued to launch an immediate public awareness drive for the Zarkhez Agricultural Loan Programme alongside credit guarantees to ease borrowing hurdles.
Furthermore, the prime minister called for a complete overhaul of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, stating that state-backed research bodies must evolve into active centers of scientific excellence rather than passive institutions.

The reform strategy prioritizes a sharp focus on increasing per-acre crop yields by introducing high-quality seeds, distributing advanced mechanical farming tools, and securing predictable supplies of water and fertilizers.
Addressing long-standing supply chain weaknesses, the new directives emphasize substantial investments in localized value-addition, automated warehousing, and state-of-the-art storage facilities to minimize post-harvest losses.
Briefing the prime minister on technological breakthroughs, sector officials revealed that advanced AI-powered mobile software is currently being developed to help local farmers instantly identify crop diseases and apply targeted remedies.
Additionally, internal policy frameworks governing national seed distribution and agricultural biotechnology have recently secured formal approval, while comprehensive action plans for the country’s domestic wheat and olive supply chains are currently being finalized for cabinet review.
