ISLAMABAD, May 7 — The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Thursday that Australia will return to Pakistan for a three-match ODI series beginning later this month. The visiting squad is expected to arrive in Islamabad on May 23 to begin their preparations. The opening match is set for the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, followed by two matches in Lahore. This marks Australia’s first ODI tour of the country since 2022, following their participation in the ICC Champions Trophy and a T20I series earlier this year.
Quick Facts
- Australia will arrive in Islamabad on May 23 for a three-match ODI series.
- The first ODI will be held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on May 30.
- The second and third ODIs are scheduled for June 2 and 4 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
- All matches will start at 4:30 PM local time (toss at 4:00 PM).
- This is Australia’s first bilateral ODI series in Pakistan in four years.
- Pakistan recently secured a 3-0 T20I series sweep against Australia in Lahore.
The upcoming series follows a period of heavy international activity in Pakistan, including the successful hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Cricket fans in Lahore and Rawalpindi are expecting high-intensity matches, especially after Pakistan’s dominant performance in the T20I format against the visitors earlier this year.
The PCB stated that the series is a significant addition to the international calendar and continues the trend of top-tier cricketing nations visiting the country. While Australia found success during the Champions Trophy with a notable win over England, they will be facing a confident Pakistani side on home turf in the 50-over format. Tickets and further match-day details are expected to be released by the board in the coming days.
