RAWALPINDI (April 16, 2026) — The Pakistan Navy has successfully conducted a live-weapon firing of a locally developed ship-launched anti-ship ballistic missile, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday. The test demonstrated the military’s ability to engage high-speed targets at extended ranges with extreme precision.

The successful firing is a significant step in Pakistan’s efforts to maintain a “credible sea-based deterrence” and bolster its Anti-Access/Area-Denial (A2/AD) capabilities. By developing these systems indigenously, the Pakistan Navy continues to reduce reliance on foreign technology while enhancing its conventional strike depth.
