PESHAWAR, October 16, 2025– Pakistan’s security forces claimed a major counter-terrorism success in the Mohmand district, eliminating dozens of militants attempting to infiltrate the country from Afghanistan, according to official sources and state media reports.

The high-stakes operation unfolded near the mountainous Khor area of Bahadar Kalay, where credible intelligence suggested a large group of militants was preparing to cross into Pakistani territory. In response, security forces launched a swift and decisive action to intercept the group, state-run PTV News reported.

“Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched an intensive operation in Afghanistan,” security sources confirmed. The preemptive strike reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 30 terrorists, although local sources believe the toll could be significantly higher.

While the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has yet to issue an official statement, the operation marks a critical moment in Pakistan-Afghanistan relations, which have seen escalating tensions in recent weeks.

The Mohmand operation underscores the volatile security environment along the Pak-Afghan frontier and highlights Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to safeguard its borders against cross-border terrorism.
