Context & Recent Form
- World Cup Momentum: Pakistan is currently competing in the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup, led by Salman Ali Agha.
- Bangladesh’s Return: This will be Bangladesh’s first major international assignment since they were replaced by Scotland in the 2026 T20 World Cup (due to their refusal to travel to India for security reasons).
- Previous Encounters: Pakistan last toured Bangladesh in July 2025 for a T20I series (lost 2-1). However, Pakistan swept Bangladesh 3-0 in a T20I series held in Pakistan in early 2025.
Looking Ahead: WTC Test Series
This ODI tour is just the first of two visits for the “Green Shirts” this year. Following the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) in April, Pakistan will return to Bangladesh in May 2026 for a two-match Test series as part of the ICC World Test Championship (2025–27):
- 1st Test: May 8–12 (Dhaka)
- 2nd Test: May 16–20 (Chattogram)
