ISLAMABAD – October 12, 2025 —In a significant counterterrorism achievement, the Pakistan Army successfully destroyed a key center of the Fitna Al-Khawarij rebellion located near the Pak-Afghan border, following unprovoked firing from Afghan territory late last night.
According to security sources, Afghan forces initiated indiscriminate firing across multiple areas of the border. In a swift and precise response, Pakistani forces retaliated with heavy weapons, targeting several Afghan checkpoints believed to be supporting hostile militant activities.
The retaliatory operation resulted in heavy losses for the opposing side. Several foreign militants and Afghan soldiers were reportedly killed, while others fled, abandoning the bodies of their comrades. Among the strategic targets hit was Kharchar Fort, described by security officials as the primary operational hub for the banned group known as Fitna Al-Khawarij.

Sources revealed that Kharchar Fort had long served as a command center for orchestrating cross-border terrorist activities against Pakistan. Its destruction marks a critical blow to the militants’ operational capacity and infrastructure.
Military officials described the operation as a major tactical victory against elements threatening Pakistan’s national security, especially in border regions where recent escalations have raised tensions between Islamabad and Kabul.
This latest success adds to a string of counter-offensives by Pakistan’s armed forces aimed at rooting out terrorist Fitna Al-Khawarij hideouts and neutralizing threats operating from Afghan soil.
