August 22, 2025 — Pakistan is facing one of its deadliest flood emergencies in recent years, with heavy monsoon rains continuing to wreak havoc, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Casualties and Human Loss
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): PDMA confirmed 393 deaths so far.
- Buner District: Worst hit, reporting 234 fatalities and 128 injuries.
- Other districts: Swabi (42 dead), Shangla (36), Mansehra (25), Bajaur (22), Swat (20).
- Nationwide Toll: NDMA recorded 771 deaths and over 900 injuries since late June.
- Recent 24 Hours: At least 24 lives lost and 15 injured in fresh incidents.
