Hong Kong, November 10, 2025 – Pakistan roared to a record-extending sixth Hong Kong Super Sixes title on Sunday, demolishing Kuwait by 43 runs in a breathtaking final at Mission Road Ground.
Captain Abbas Afridi lit up the stadium with a jaw-dropping 52 off just 11 balls – seven monstrous sixes and two blazing fours – before retiring hurt. Explosive opener Abdul Samad hammered 42 from 13 deliveries, while Khawaja Nafay smoked 22 off 6, powering Pakistan to an unbeatable 135/3 in six overs.
Congratulations to the Pakistan Cricket Team and the entire nation on winning the Hong Kong Super Sixes title! 🏆

Kuwait started with fireworks as Adnan Idrees blasted five sixes in the first over, but left-arm spinner Maaz Sadaqat (3-29) triggered a stunning collapse. Backed by Afridi and Muhammad Shahzad, Pakistan bundled out the debutants for 92 in 5.1 overs.
Afridi’s all-round brilliance earned him both Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament awards. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi celebrated the “magnificent victory,” hailing Pakistan as the most successful team in Super Sixes history – now one clear of England and South Africa’s five titles each.
Despite a rain-hit two-run DLS defeat to India in the group stage, Pakistan stayed unbeaten thereafter, edging Australia by one run in a nail-biting semi-final. India, captained by Dinesh Karthik, suffered shock losses to Kuwait, UAE, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
Muhammad Shahzad’s viral trophy-lift – copying Hardik Pandya’s iconic pose – sent social media into meltdown as millions across Pakistan erupted in joy.
This thunderous triumph caps Pakistan’s 2025 with pure six-hitting magic!
