ISLAMABAD, October 8, 2025 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has summoned senior PML-N leaders to address escalating political tensions between Punjab and Sindh, following a walkout by PPP lawmakers during a recent National Assembly session.

According to official sources, the Prime Minister is seeking to resolve intensified disagreements between the two provinces over the distribution of flood relief.

The PPP-led Sindh government has insisted that financial assistance to flood victims be distributed through the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), citing transparency and direct access to the funds. However, the PML-N government in Punjab has rejected BISP as a delivery mechanism, opting instead for provincial-level relief management, which has fueled Sindh-Punjab Political Tension 2025.

As part of reconciliation efforts, senior PML-N leaders are expected to communicate the PPP’s concerns directly to the Prime Minister about Sindh-Punjab Political Tension 2025.
