Quetta, Oct 1, 2025 — At least ten terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Quetta’s Aghbarg area, a CTD spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday.
The operation was launched on intelligence-based information. CTD teams came under fire upon reaching the location but retaliated swiftly, killing the militants.
On credible intelligence regarding the presence of an FAK Tashkeel in the Ghazanand mountains on the outskirts of Quetta, a joint operation was launched by security forces. The terrorists were engaged with precision, resulting in 10 terrorist being neutralized.

- According to CTD, the slain terrorists belonged to a banned outfit and had previously been involved in attacks on security forces.
- Their identities have not yet been confirmed. Bodies were shifted to a hospital for identification, while further investigations are underway.
- The operation comes a day after a suicide car bombing near Frontier Corps HQ in Quetta, which martyred four security personnel and six civilians.
- Security officials noted that terrorists in Balochistan — particularly the banned BLA — have stepped up attacks in recent months, adopting new tactics to target security forces and destabilize the province.
