Quetta, Oct 1, 2025 — At least ten terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Quetta’s Aghbarg area, a CTD spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday.

The operation was launched on intelligence-based information. CTD teams came under fire upon reaching the location but retaliated swiftly, killing the militants.

  • Recovered from the site: heavy weapons and ammunition.
  • According to CTD, the slain terrorists belonged to a banned outfit and had previously been involved in attacks on security forces.
  • Their identities have not yet been confirmed. Bodies were shifted to a hospital for identification, while further investigations are underway.

  • The operation comes a day after a suicide car bombing near Frontier Corps HQ in Quetta, which martyred four security personnel and six civilians.
  • Security officials noted that terrorists in Balochistan — particularly the banned BLA — have stepped up attacks in recent months, adopting new tactics to target security forces and destabilize the province.
