22 October 2025 – Washington: US President Donald Trump says he talked to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on Tuesday. White House held a Diwali Celebration on Tuesday, which President Trump also attended. He said he had a great time talking to the Indian PM, mostly about trade, and also about having “no wars with Pakistan”.
Trump has been talking about a ceasefire between India and Pakistan since the May 2025 standoff between the two countries. He counts his ceasefire efforts as a milestone in establishing peace around the globe. He has been mentioning how Pakistan crashed Indian planes, much to the humiliation of India around the world. India has been constantly denying Trump’s claims about brokering a peace deal between the countries. Pakistan’s PM Shabaz Sharif, on the other hand, has thanked Trump multiple times for his efforts regarding the matter.
