QUETTA: The Government Girls Primary School in the Killi Niganga area of Loralai district has resumed functioning after intervention by the Balochistan Ombudsman, officials said.

The decision followed a complaint filed by Akhtar Muhammad, son of Abdul Rasheed, against the District Education Officer (DEO) of Loralai. The complainant highlighted that the transfer of Junior Vernacular Teacher (JVT) Ms Raheela Majeed had rendered the school non-functional, severely affecting the education of female students in the area.

Taking cognisance of the issue, Balochistan Ombudsman Ali Ahmed Lehri directed the DEO Loralai to examine the matter and take immediate corrective measures to restore educational activities.

In response, the DEO cancelled the transfer order and reinstated Ms Raheela Majeed to her original position at the school. Following her return, the school resumed normal academic operations, ensuring that female students could continue their education without further disruption.

Officials emphasised that the move reflected the provincial government’s commitment to safeguarding access to education for girls and addressing administrative issues that affect schools in remote areas.
