RAWALPINDI — Security forces successfully neutralized eight terrorists during consecutive, high-tempo intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Balochistan’s Kharan and Mastung districts, the military’s media wing reported on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), these precise engagements took place on June 25 and 26 as a crucial component of Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism framework targeting “Fitna al Hindustan.”

The state formally utilizes the designation “Fitna al Hindustan” for Balochistan-based insurgent factions to underscore alleged cross-border sponsoring and hostile regional proxy intervention targeting domestic infrastructure.

On June 25, military surveillance units intercepted a militant cell moving through the Kharan district. A swift operational response resulted in three terrorists being neutralized, while several others sustained injuries during the exchange.

A subsequent preemptive operation was executed in Mastung on June 26 following credible intelligence pointing to an active suicide bomber network. Five additional terrorists, including the targeted suicide bomber, were eliminated after intense gun battles.

Security units recovered significant caches of automatic weaponry, active ammunition stockpiles, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and transport vehicles from the destroyed hideouts. Sanitization drives remain active to clear adjacent sectors.

“Operations should continue until the complete eradication of foreign-sponsored terrorism in the country,” stated President Asif Ali Zardari, as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif promised a crushing defeat to the enemies of peace on every front.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi added that proactive preemptive tactics effectively disrupted severe terror plots. The operation follows similar successful operations earlier this month that eliminated 17 militants across the province.
