ISLAMABAD — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held detailed bilateral and delegation-level talks with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Islamabad on Wednesday, focusing on economic cooperation and the current situation in the Middle East.
The Kuwaiti foreign minister arrived in the capital on Tuesday for an official visit aimed at strengthening institutional ties between the two countries.

Delegation-Level Talks
After an initial one-on-one meeting, both ministers co-chaired broader delegation talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two sides agreed to institutionalise high-level engagements and expand collaboration in several key areas:
- Economic Partnerships: Enhancing trade, foreign direct investment, energy cooperation, and development in the mining and minerals sector.
- Human Capital & Healthcare: Strengthening labour mobility and medical workforce exchanges, building on their successful partnership during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Emerging Sectors: Promoting joint ventures in Information Technology (IT), agriculture, defence, and public health.
Middle East Crisis and Regional Diplomacy
The ministers also exchanged views on regional security, particularly the situation in Palestine and broader Middle East stability. Sheikh Jarrah appreciated Pakistan’s constructive contributions to regional peace efforts, while Dar reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to multilateral cooperation on issues concerning the OIC and the wider Islamic world.
