WANA, Nov. 11 — Security forces killed at least two terrorists in an ongoing operation following an attack on Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan on Monday, the military’s media wing said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists attempted to breach the perimeter of the college but were repelled by security personnel. “The initial attempt by the terrorists to breach the security was foiled by the vigilant and resolute response of own troops,” the statement said.

The attackers later rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the main gate, causing it to collapse and damaging nearby structures. The ISPR said the assailants then entered the campus and were “cornered in the college’s administrative block”, where security forces engaged and killed two of them.

“Displaying unwavering courage and professional excellence, own troops eliminated two khwarij belonging to an Indian proxy group,” the statement added, using the term the state employs for militants associated with the banned Fitna Al Khawarij (FAK).

The military said the remaining terrorists were in contact with handlers in Afghanistan, calling the incident evidence that militant elements continue to operate from across the border. “This act of barbarism, orchestrated from Afghanistan, contradicts assertions by the Afghan Taliban regime claiming non-presence of these groups,” the ISPR said, adding that Pakistan “reserves the right to respond against the terrorists and their leadership present in Afghanistan.”
