Deadly Explosion in Chaman

A powerful explosion rocked the border town of Chaman on Thursday, killing at least five people and injuring several others. The blast took place near a busy taxi stand in a refugee camp area, close to the Pakistan-Afghan border.

Police termed it a “suicide attack,” while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s office, in a condolence message, stated that six lives were lost. The premier expressed deep sorrow and directed authorities to ensure best medical facilities for the injured.

Eyewitnesses said the explosion was so intense it was heard across the city. The Balochistan government sealed the site and tasked law enforcement agencies with a comprehensive probe.

Security Forces Strike Back in Khuzdar

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the ISPR confirmed that security forces neutralised four terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy network Fitna al Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation in Khuzdar.

After an intense firefight, the terrorists were killed and a cache of weapons and explosives recovered. A sanitisation operation is ongoing to clear the area.

Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the armed forces’ professionalism, reiterating that the fight against Indian-backed terrorism will continue until it is completely wiped out.
