KAKUL, October 19, 2025 — Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Saturday issued a firm warning to India, declaring that there is “no space for war in a nuclearised environment”, while hailing Pakistan’s clear victory in the May 2025 conflict.
Speaking at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul, COAS Asim Munir said any future provocation would be met with a “response beyond proportion”, and cautioned that the consequences of escalation would rest solely with India.
The COAS, Asim Munir, was referencing the May 2025 clashes, when India launched Operation Sindoor following a controversial attack in occupied Kashmir. In retaliation, Pakistan responded with Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, targeting Indian military assets, including advanced Rafale jets and S-400 systems.
Munir said the conflict showcased Pakistan’s multi-domain warfare capabilities, adding, “Our precision, resolve, and readiness shattered the myth of India’s regional supremacy.”
Reaffirming Pakistan’s nuclear deterrence doctrine, he stressed that the military would defend “every inch of this sacred land” and that “the deeply hurting retributive losses” inflicted on the adversary would be beyond imagination.
He also addressed India’s alleged state-sponsored terrorism, including the use of Fitna al-Hind and Fitna al-Khawarij—Pakistan’s terms for proxies used by India and TTP-linked militants, respectively.
On regional security, the COAS urged Afghanistan to curb terrorism emanating from its soil, while calling for mutual peace and security. “Every state proxy will be razed to dust,” he warned.
Turning to Kashmir, Munir reaffirmed diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people, pledging continued advocacy for UN resolutions on the dispute.

Highlighting Pakistan’s role as a “net regional stabiliser”, Munir praised recent defence cooperation with Saudi Arabia, China, and the United States, and welcomed Donald Trump’s leadership in brokering peace in conflict zones.
