RAWALPINDI – October 10, 2025 — Thirty terrorists involved in the deadly Orakzai attack earlier this week have been killed in a targeted retribution operation, the military’s media wing said on Friday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched in the Jamal Maya area of Orakzai district based on credible intelligence. After an intense exchange of fire, all 30 militants described as “Indian-sponsored khawarij” were neutralized.

The statement said these operations were carried out to avenge the October 7 attack, in which 11 security personnel — including Lt Col Junaid Tariq and Major Tayyab Rahat — embraced martyrdom during an intelligence-based raid against the banned outfit Fitna al Khawarij.
ISPR noted that sanitisation operations are continuing in the area to track down and eliminate any remaining militants. It reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces are “determined and unwavering” in their mission to root out terrorism, particularly networks backed from across the border.
The Orakzai incident was among several recent attacks targeting security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, marking a renewed escalation in militant violence.
