ISLAMABAD – October 10, 2025 — Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a strong warning to terrorist groups and their facilitators, declaring that Pakistan’s patience “has run out” following a recent wave of deadly attacks on security forces. His back-to-back speeches in the National Assembly on October 9 and 10 reflect a notable shift in Islamabad’s stance on cross-border terrorism.

On October 9, Asif said that terrorism emanating from Afghan soil was “intolerable” and that those providing shelter to militants “will have to answer.” He vowed to pursue terrorist facilitators “wherever they are” and called for political unity to fight the menace, saying political differences could wait but national security could not.

A day later, Asif reiterated his position with the words “enough is enough.” He warned that collateral damage “cannot be ruled out” if militants attack from civilian areas. He also revealed that past diplomatic efforts with Kabul had failed and proposed sending a new high-level delegation to Afghanistan to demand action against terror sanctuaries.
