Rawalpindi – Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday said the Pakistan Armed Forces’ stunning display of professionalism during the May 2025 “Marka-i-Haq” conflict with India has dramatically raised the country’s global respect and stature.
Speaking to participants of the National Security Workshop-27 at GHQ, the army chief did not mince words: the 18-day stand-off from the Pahalgam attack to the May 10 ceasefire showed the world what Pakistan is truly capable of.“The professionalism, resolve and commitment our forces showed during Marka-i-Haq has elevated Pakistan’s image across the globe,” Gen Munir told the gathering, according to the ISPR.

He reminded the audience that Pakistan is no ordinary nation. “We are a country of consequence and, InshaAllah, we are destined to take our rightful place among the comity of nations,” he said, adding that nothing can stop a united Pakistan.
The army chief also sent a clear message to adversaries: the safety of every inch of Pakistani soil and every single citizen is non-negotiable.
While briefing the participants on current challenges – from cross-border terrorism to hybrid warfare and smuggling – he praised the armed forces, intelligence agencies, and law enforcement for their relentless efforts in keeping the nation secure.
The May conflict began after India blamed Pakistan for the Pahalgam tourist attack and launched airstrikes. Pakistan responded decisively, downing seven Indian jets without losing any of its own, before a US-brokered ceasefire restored calm.
For Pakistan, Marka-i-Haq is now more than just a military chapter – it’s a statement to the world.
