Rawalpindi – October 9, 2025:
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has successfully dismantled an international drug trafficking network that was exploiting young, underprivileged couples by luring them into smuggling drugs with false promises of a better life abroad.
In a carefully coordinated operation, conducted on the basis of secret intelligence, ANF arrested 11 suspects, including 4 women and a pharmacist, from various locations. Among the arrested is Nadeem Khan, identified as the ringleader of the network, which was attempting to smuggle heroin into the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to the ANF spokesperson, the drug trafficking network prepared heroin in capsule form, which smugglers were trained to swallow to bypass airport scanners. Four couples were intercepted at two different airports in Pakistan with drug-filled capsules inside their stomachs.

The breakthrough came after the ANF tightened surveillance across key airports and utilized advanced technical and digital tracking to trace the entire drug trafficking network smuggling chain. The operation also led to the arrest of three additional facilitators, while several other suspects have been identified and are being pursued.
Authorities revealed that the drug traffic network targeted poor, less-educated youth, enticing them with fabricated promises of lucrative jobs in the Gulf region.
Despite limited resources, the ANF reaffirmed its commitment to fighting cross-border narcotics crime. The force vowed that its campaign to prevent drug smuggling from Pakistan to Gulf countries will intensify in the coming months.
