Casualties and Missing Persons
The overall death toll in AJK has risen to at least 10, though exact figures for Neelum Valley remain unconfirmed. Local reports indicate both direct and indirect casualties, including a seriously injured individual in Kel Bagnwan. Several people are still missing, and rescue teams — facing blocked routes and fast currents — are racing against time to reach cut-off communities.
Infrastructure Collapse
Floodwaters have washed away key bridges and roads, severing vital links across the valley. The Kattan Chowk bridge, Kattan Waterfall bridge, and three connecting bridges over Lawat Nala have been completely destroyed. This has left numerous villages isolated and disrupted emergency aid delivery.

Tourists Stranded
With Neelum Valley being a major summer destination, the floods have left hundreds of tourists stranded. Many are stuck in remote guesthouses or makeshift shelters, awaiting evacuation. Authorities have appealed for patience and are prioritizing safe passage once temporary crossings are established.
Local officials warn that with the forecast predicting continued rain, the risk of further landslides and flooding remains high, making relief efforts both urgent and dangerous.
