PMD Reports Medium Flood at Guddu, Sukkur Barrages; Low-Level Flood at Kotri

KARACHI, Sept 13 — The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday reported medium-level flooding at Guddu and Sukkur barrages, while a low-level flood was observed at Kotri barrage.

Flood Situation

According to the PMD, water inflows at 6am were measured at 512,662 cusecs at Guddu, 491,760 cusecs at Sukkur, and 269,084 cusecs at Kotri. The advisory has been shared with civic and disaster management authorities to ensure precautionary measures.

Weather Outlook for Sindh

The Met Office forecasted hot and humid conditions across most districts of Sindh. Light drizzle or rain is likely in Karachi, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Thatta, Badin, and Sujawal.

In Karachi, the three-day outlook shows cloudy and humid weather on Friday with chances of drizzle, followed by partly cloudy skies on Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures are expected to hover between 31°C and 33°C, with minimums of 25°C to 27°C.

Morning humidity will stay high, ranging from 75% to 88%, while evenings will remain sticky with 65% to 75% humidity. Winds are forecast from the west to southwest throughout the period.
