Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said the relief payments would come from provincial resources, without foreign aid. She added that 10,000 officials are conducting surveys in flood-affected areas.
Meanwhile, three breaches in the Sutlej embankment inundated villages in Multan, Bahawalpur, and Lodhran, forcing residents to live on roadsides without shelter. Locals alleged that authorities focused more on protecting the motorway than saving rural communities.
In Sindh, floodwaters submerged dozens of villages in Jamshoro and Sehwan, destroying homes, crops, and infrastructure. A viral video from Manjhand showed a funeral procession wading through waist-deep water, highlighting the dire humanitarian crisis.
The government has set up 271 relief camps and 300 medical camps, but thousands remain stranded as water levels slowly recede.
