Lahore, November 4, 2025 – Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has launched a defamation lawsuit against journalist Naeem Hanif, valued at Rs 100 million, after he accused her of a scandalous past romance in a viral YouTube video. The star, known for hits like Cheekh and Hindi Medium, fired back with a seven-day ultimatum: apologize, delete the video, pay up – or face court.
The controversy exploded when Hanif claimed on RNN TV that in 2003-2004, a young Qamar lived in a Walton, Lahore house allegedly provided by a boyfriend. He alleged the relationship ended bitterly, leading to harassment and a complaint filed at a news outlet. Qamar slammed the story as “completely false and fabricated,” insisting she has “never lived in Walton.”

In a powerful Instagram statement, the actress declared: “Spreading lies about someone’s personal life is a serious crime. I’m taking legal action – see you in court.” Her legal notice, dated November 3, accuses Hanif of “malicious defamation” and demands immediate removal of the content.
The timing adds fuel: Qamar recently faced backlash for saying she’d never permanently move to Karachi for work, sparking online trolls. Now, she’s turning defense into dominance, urging fans: “Don’t stay silent when someone disrespects you.”
With no response yet from Hanif, Pakistan watches as one of its biggest stars fights back against character assassination. Will the journalist retract – or double down? This high-stakes drama is just beginning.
